காமம் எனவொன்றோ கண்ணின்றென் நெஞ்சத்தையாமத்தும் ஆளும் தொழில்.

எளிய பொருள்

காமம் என்று சொல்லப்படுகின்ற ஒன்று கண்ணோட்டம் இல்லாதது. அது என் நெஞ்சத்தை நள்ளிரவில் ஏவல் கொண்டு ஆள்கிறது.

Even at midnight is my mind worried by lust, and this one thing, alas! is without mercy.
